Billing & refunds

Premium list price is $49 CAD per month, billed by Stripe. Founding Partners enter code FOUNDERS for $19 CAD/mo for 12 months, then $49/mo. StatusNearMe never sees or stores your full card number.

  • Founding code — At Stripe Checkout, use Add promotion code → FOUNDERS. Offer is limited-time while we grow the user base.
  • Receipts — Stripe emails invoices and receipts to the address used at Checkout.
  • Cancel — You can stop future renewals via the Stripe Customer Portal (from the post-payment page when available) or by contacting us. Cancel typically ends at the end of the current paid period (no further charges after that).
  • Refunds — If you were charged in error, paid twice, or we cannot verify/place your listing after a good-faith attempt, email us promptly with your business name and Stripe receipt. We review refunds case by case; approved refunds are issued through Stripe.
  • Placement — Payment unlocks Premium eligibility. Verified Supporter badge and banner go live after we verify your location and clear the creative/placement queue (not instant automation).
  • Tax — Prices are shown without GST/HST until we are required to collect and register. Not tax advice.

How advertising works

StatusNearMe separates your sponsored placements from general app ads so they never compete for the same space.

Premium & Corporate (first-party) — you promote your location(s) only where shoppers decide:

  • Search / nearby list — optional sponsored boost and small logo beside the store title
  • Place detail dialog — your sponsored unit (and verified listing context)
  • Labeled clearly (e.g. Sponsored / Verified partner). Not a third-party ad network selling random brands into your slot.

Ad duration

  • Premium — runs for each paid billing month while your subscription is active and the listing is verified. Starts after verification and creative/placement queue (not always same-day).
  • Founding Partners — code FOUNDERS: $19 CAD/mo for 12 months, then $49/mo. Limited-time while we grow the user base.
  • Corporate — flight dates and location count agreed in writing for your package.

Banner & logo sizes (display size vs deliver-at-2× for phones)

  • List logo icon — display 48×48 · deliver 96×96 or 128×128 PNG (square)
  • Detail dialog banner — display ~360×120 · deliver 720×240 PNG/JPG
  • Optional tall unit — display 360×180 · deliver 720×360

General app ads (e.g. Google AdMob) — help keep the free app sustainable. Strictly limited to:

  • Start / home (first screen users see)
  • Bottom of the screen (app chrome banner)
  • Never inside list result cards or place detail dialogs — so Premium/Corporate inventory does not overlap AdMob

Non-compete rule: list cards and detail dialogs are reserved for organic listings and paying Premium/Corporate sponsors only. Start and bottom chrome are reserved for general network ads (when enabled). We do not sell the same pixel twice.

What StatusNearMe does not show

The app is built for everyday, walk-in retail and services where Status cardholders can present a Certificate of Indian Status at the counter or pump—gas bars, grocery and convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and similar storefronts.

Not listed today: industrial businesses, development corporations, wholesale-only or B2B operators, head offices without a public retail counter, and other non–walk-in enterprises. Those organizations matter to communities; they are simply outside the app’s current focus.

Coming Soon: Card2Keys — A NEW app to assist car dealerships and other large, registerable property-type purchases (and related high-value retail) where Status exemption processes differ from a typical till visit.

We are adding online stores that support Status card holders and integrate Status tax exemptions at checkout. We encourage all online retailers to integrate Status tax options. You will generate more revenue!
